    Terms & Conditions of Service

    These terms govern all consulting engagements with Start Smart Hospitality Consulting.

    1. Services

    Start Smart Hospitality Consulting ("we", "us", "our") provides remote consulting support, operational templates, training materials, and systems design for independent hospitality businesses in the United Kingdom. All deliverables are provided digitally via shared folders, email, and video calls unless otherwise agreed in writing.

    2. Scope and out-of-scope items

    Each engagement is scoped according to the package or proposal agreed upon at the point of purchase. The scope of work will be outlined in your order confirmation or proposal document. Out-of-scope items include but are not limited to: • Legal advice, tax advice, or regulatory compliance assessments • Food safety consultancy or HACCP plan creation (unless explicitly included) • Physical on-site visits (unless agreed and costed separately) • Any work not described in the agreed scope document Additional work outside the agreed scope may be arranged at our standard rate of £75/hour, agreed in writing before work begins.

    3. Payment terms

    Prices are listed on our website and confirmed at checkout or in your proposal. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. • Full payment is due at the point of purchase unless a pay-in-2 option is offered and selected. • For pay-in-2 arrangements, the second payment is due on the date specified in your order confirmation. • Work will not commence until the first payment has been received. • All prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable.

    4. Cancellation and refunds

    • If you cancel within 14 days of purchase and before any work has been delivered, you are entitled to a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. • Once work has commenced or deliverables have been provided, refunds are at our discretion. • If we are unable to deliver the agreed services, we will offer a full refund or alternative arrangement. • Cancellation requests should be sent to help@startsmarthospitality.com.

    5. Intellectual property

    Templates, documents, systems, and materials we create or provide as part of your engagement are licensed for use by your business only. You may not: • Resell, redistribute, or share materials with third parties • Claim authorship of materials created by Start Smart Hospitality Consulting • Use materials for any business other than the one specified in your engagement The underlying frameworks, methodologies, and intellectual property remain the property of Start Smart Hospitality Consulting.

    6. Confidentiality

    We treat all client information as confidential. We will not share your business details, financial information, or project materials with any third party without your written consent, except where required by law. We may reference the general nature of our work (e.g. "helped a street food operator launch") in case studies or marketing, but will not use your name or identifiable details without your explicit permission.

    7. Limitation of liability

    Start Smart Hospitality Consulting provides consulting support, templates, and operational guidance. We are not liable for: • Food safety inspection outcomes or regulatory decisions • Business performance, revenue, or profitability outcomes • Losses arising from the use or misuse of our materials • Any indirect or consequential losses Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

    8. Client responsibilities

    As a client, you are responsible for: • Providing accurate and complete information when requested • Responding to communications in a timely manner to avoid project delays • Ensuring your business complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and local authority requirements • Implementing recommendations and templates at your own discretion and risk • Obtaining independent legal, tax, or food safety advice where required

    9. Governing law

    These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

    10. Changes to these Terms

    We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
